A Wayne man was killed in a pickup-motorcycle accident just after 11 a.m. Wednesday on state Highway 59 at Hopping Avenue.
OHP Trooper Kenneth Pittman was the lead investigator reporting both vehicles were eastbound on SH 59 when a 1999 Ford F250, driven by Jeffery Herndon, 60, of Pauls Valley began making a left turn onto Hopping Avenue.
Pittman said a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle driven by Hayden Stanley, 22, of Wayne was attempting to pass on the left and struck the pickup in the side.
Pittman said the cause of the collision was improper passing.
Pittman was assisted at the scene by Trooper Nick Vinson, Trooper Shayne Ballard, Captain Jim Terry, the McClain County Sheriff’s Department, Wayne Fire and Wadley’s EMS.
Wadley’s EMS transported Stanley to Purcell Municipal Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
