Lex off to 1-2 start


Lexington took a 1-2 season mark into Tuesday’s home district contest with Christian Heritage .

The Bulldogs had a rough outing in their season opener losing to Washington 10-0.

They bounced back, however, and knocked off Wayne 14-6 pounding out eight hits.

Drew Dierking led the offensive attack going 3-5 at the plate including a triple and had two RBIs.

Jacob Turnpaugh had a three run scoring double. Corbin Perry had a two run scoring double and  scored three times.

Zeke Faulkenberry was 2-5 with three runs scored. Skylar Rollins went 1-3 and finished with a pair of RBIs.

Monday of this week CHA put it on the Bulldogs 11-1.

In that contest Perry, Dierking, Turnpaugh and Logan Carroll all had hits. Turnpaugh took the loss on the hill.

The Bulldogs had five errors in the loss to Washington.

Lexington was scheduled to host Bethel Friday weather permitting.
