When I interviewed Brad Beller this week after his Warriors’ second straight undefeated season and back-to-back State Championship, I told him that all he has to do is win every game next season and a couple more games in the 2025 season to match Bud Wilkinson’s 47 straight wins record.
He laughed but did take a minute to reflect on 30 straight.
He said (and you can read all his remarks on page one) when you are in the middle of it you are just focusing on the next game but looking back it really is something that not many programs can say.
True words.

Also, congratulations to the Purcell Dragons for winning the Madill Winter Classic Basketball Tournament for the second straight year.
Coach Toney Cooper and his girls are off to a 5-0 start to the cage season and have aspirations of making noise this year in the post season.

Thanks to the spearheading of Jan Dye, the Purcell Municipal Hospital Foundation is back up and running.
Board members, in addition to Mrs. Dye, include Candace Clark, Chris Wright, Savannah Pyle, Jeremy Swanner and Steve Sherman.
The Foundation serves a vital function in the stability of the hospital and the new board of directors has a myriad of ideas on how to support PMH.
Just for an example, it was through the Foundation that the helicopter pad was paid for at the old hospital.
That was quite an upgrade from having to clear out the parking lot and call the fire department every time a helicopter came in for a landing.
We’re looking for good things from the new board.
