Purcell Police answered a call at Green Avenue and Chandler Road December 14 at 7:36 p.m. when a motorist, who is reported to have caused an accident, fled the scene on foot.
Witnesses said the person, later identified as Ottoniel Trigueros Perez, was detained on the north side of Walmart by officer Daniel Fumi after refusing to stop running.
Officers said Perez had bloodshot-watery eyes, slurred speech, unstable balance and swayed all around. They reported they could smell a powerful odor of alcholic beverage emitting from his breath.
Perez was later arrested and booked into the McClain County Jail for driving under the influence.
Other officers responding to the accident scene included Joshua Miller and Daniel Ashbridge.
The official police report did not list anyone that was injured in the accident.
