Wayne, Purcell and McClain County first responders were called to the scene of a train derailment just north of Wayne just after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
Initial reports indicated there were no injuries.
According to Purcell Fire Chief Greg Cypert, four freight cars went off the tracks to the east. A large section of track was visible pointing skyward.
Wayne Firefighters, Purcell Firefighters, sheriff deputies and Wadleys EMS responded initially.
There was no word from train officials or the Oklahoma Highway Patrol prior to the posting of this breaking news story.
As of 4 p.m. only plastic beads were found to be spilled from the derailment.
BNSF had been contacted.
