On Sunday, February 18 Detention Deputies from the McClain County Sheriff’s Office responded to the female housing unit, APod.
Deputies observed female inmate Tiffany Nicole Burleson, who appeared weak and to have labored breathing.
As deputies were trying to get the inmate’s vital signs, she stopped breathing.
CPR was started immediately and within minutes Wadley’s EMS crews were on scene.
EMS took over first aid and transported the inmate to Purcell Municipal Hospital.
Shortly after arrival at the hospital the inmate was pronounced deceased.
The cause of death is pending and will be determined by the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner.
