As a teen, Pratt was a part of the Lake Stevens High School wrestling team and later placed fifth a state wrestling tournament. However, he always knew acting was his passion as he often told his coach he knew he would be famous. He recalled: “I know I'll be famous and I know I'll make a s*** ton of money.' I had no idea how. I'd done nothing proactive."

Pratt dropped out of community college and relocated to Hawaii with some friends. However, he struggled to make ends meet and lived in a van or camped out in a tent on the beach. He said: "It's a pretty awesome place to be homeless. We just drank and smoked and worked minimal hours, just enough to cover gas, food and fishing supplies."

The movie star briefly took a job stripping off for women before he got his acting break.. He revealed: “I was always a very much naked person. I loved to always get naked. I was very free, so I thought, I may as well get paid. “I was never like ‘Magic Mike’, you know. I did go one time and audition on a stage for a club, but I don t think I got the job. I don t think I m a very good dancer.”

When he was 19 years old, Pratt waited tables at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company restaurant in Maui. It was there that he served ‘The Colour Purple’ star Rae Dawn Chong, who offered him a part in her directorial debut. He then moved to Los Angeles to shoot ‘Cursed Part 3’.

The ‘Onward’ star met his ex-wife on the set of their 2007 movie ‘Take Me Home Tonight’. They announced their engagement in 2008 but eloped to Bali after a friend’s wedding. Sadly, the couple split in 2017 and Pratt remarried Katherine Schwarznegger in 2019.

During their marriage, Pratt and Anna welcomed a son, Jack, in 2012. However, Jack was born nine weeks premature leaving the couple to pray day and night for their newborn. He later said the birth of his preterm son "really defined" his faith in God.

Pratt landed his big break when he was cast as Star-Lord in Marvel Cinematic Universe film 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. However, he initially turned down the role as he was concerned about his body size. He said: ”I was probably scared and thought I was too fat to play a superhero.”

Brolin was originally cast as Owen Grady in the 2015 movie dinosaur blockbuster but dropped out. Pratt was a long-time fan of the original 1993 ‘Jurassic Park’ movie and jumped at the chance to be in the spin-off franchise. He dubbed the original films his “‘Star Wars’”.

In 2019, Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger - who is the daughter of action star Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver. Katherine’s mother is a member of the Kennedy family as her mother, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, was a sister of John F., Robert and Ted Kennedy. She married Arnold in 1986 but the pair split in 2017.

The actor participated in the Bible-inspired Daniel Fast, based on the Old Testament prophet, who limited his diet to vegetables and water to be able to cleanse his body and focus on a spiritual connection to God. Speaking on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert', he said: "I just came off it a couple days ago. It's a 21-day fast. A lot of people are doing it. I did it through my church. It's based on Daniel, the book of Daniel, the prophet Daniel from the Old Testament. "He was a guy who only ate fruits and vegetables and grains, and didn't have any breads and didn't have any animal products. I was inspired by my pastor, we do it, it's kind of like our Lent, you know, give something up. So for 21 days I had no meat, no sugar, no alcohol, and it was actually amazing. It was really cool."
