The weather was perfect last Saturday for the Bulldogs to pick up their first win of the season, a 12-4 victory over Asher.
Ezra Faulkenberry got the win. He gave up four runs on five hits and struck out four from the mound.
Faulkenberry also led the team at the plate. He had three hits in as many appearances. Drew Dierking also had three hits. Freshman Colby Haynes joined them with multiple hits with two.
In total, Lexington had 11 hits in the win. Cadyn Krueger, Logan Carroll and Dax Beason each had a hit. Krueger also had two RBIs.
Also Saturday, Lexington dropped a 12-2 loss to Mount St. Mary.
The Bulldogs were leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning when the Rockets broke it open and scored 11 runs to pick up the lopsided win.
Payton Arnold and Krueger were responsible for Lexington’s two hits. Krueger also had an RBI.
Ryan Johnson was on the mound for three and a third innings. He allowed six runs on 10 hits. Haynes came in in relief. He allowed six runs on five hits.
Last Friday, Lexington dropped a 10-0 loss to 2A #4 AmPo.
Zeke Faulkenberry singled in the first inning to provide the only offense for Lexington.
Dierking lasted an inning on the mound. He allowed six runs on four hits. Arnold came in in relief followed by Klupenger to finish the game.
In their second game with Christian Heritage, Lexington fell 11-4.
The score was knotted at four-all in the bottom of the fifth inning when the Crusaders plated seven runs to get the win.
Tanner Brock started on the mound for Lexington. He lasted four innings giving up four runs on five hits. He struck out three.
The Bulldogs tallied seven hits. Brock and Dierking had a pair apiece. Haynes, Mixon and Skylar Rollins each added a hit.
Dierking led the team with two stolen bases.
Lexington was on the road Tuesday for the Bethel Wood Bat classic. They were scheduled to play Tecumseh and Asher. The tournament concluded Wednesday.
