There’s a clever headline in this week’s Register written by OSU Extension’s Trisha Gedon.
The story is about rainfall and the headline reads: “Soaklahoma - where the rain comes sweeping down the plains”.
Too bad we can’t bank some of this rainfall and spread it out in July and August.

A fire last week didn’t affect the annual Heart of Oklahoma Awards Banquet at Mid-America Technology Center.
But after dodging that bullet, MATC Superintendent Mike Eubank and his staff couldn’t match Mother Nature’s wrath.
It was about the time for the banquet to kick off last Thursday when a severe thunderstorm moved through the area. The winds toppled over 100 utility poles west of the technology center and knocked out electricity at Mid-America.
Eubank reported his school had three hours of battery back up juice that kept about 10 percent of the lights on to help finish the meeting.
Rural Electric and Western Farmers Electric had crews out all night Thursday restoring power to the area, Eubank reported
The lack of electricity cut down on the program but attendees were able to eat dinner and hear about some of the award winners.
Perseverance paid off for MATC and the Chamber of Commerce officials and the show went on well enough under the circumstances.
Congratulations to all of the award winners.
