If you aren’t already tired of the heat (and who isn’t) take a gander at some of these temperatures from random cities and towns.

I chose a random day, Wednesday, September 16, at a random time, 4 p.m., and here’s what the weather channel was reporting.

Boston was 78 degrees Fahrenheit, Purcell was 100, Miami,  FL was 88, Oshkosh, Wis. was 70, Seattle was 73, Las Vegas was 97, San Diego was 79 and Aspen, Colo. was 72.

I tried to find towns on both the east coast and west coast.

It made me even more hot under the collar knowing we were hotter than Las Vegas not to mention jealous of the really cool temp locations.

The real head scratching thing was all of the sunrise and sunset times of towns, even in the same time zone.

The two eastern time zone cities, Boston and Miami, weren’t the same and the Pacific Time Zone cities of San Diego, Seattle and Las Vegas didn’t have the same times.

Oshkosh and Purcell are both in the Central Time zone and they were not the same.

Then there is the Mountain Time zone of Aspen.

The sunrise in Boston that day was 6:25 a.m. with sunset at 6:51 p.m. Miami had a sunrise of 7:07 a.m. and predicted sunset of 7:23 p.m.

Seattle’s sunrise time was 6:48 a.m. with sundown at 6:46 p.m. compared to San Diego rising at 6:33 a.m. and setting at 6:13 p.m. Meanwhile, Vegas had a 6:24 a.m. sunrise and a sunset of 6:46 p.m.

Purcell’s sunrise was at 7:12 a.m. with sunset at 7:34 p.m. while Oshkosh had a sunrise of 6:34 a.m. and sunset of 7:02 p.m.

The sun rose over the Rockies in Aspen at 6:49 a.m. and was to set at 7:13 p.m.

Weird.
