For those of you in Lexington, Purcell and Wayne, by the time you are reading this, in-person early voting is well underway.
Unfortunately for those of you who live in Washington, you won’t be reading this until Friday or Saturday due to the limited service provided by the U.S. Postal Service.
The reason Purcell, Lexington and Wayne get their papers on Thursday is because we do the work of the postal service for them.
We hand deliver the newspapers to those respective post offices on Wednesday afternoon.
If we could have a volunteer to hand deliver papers to Washington, please raise your hands.
I know a reader in Midwest City that got last week’s newspaper on Monday of this week. That’s the good news. The bad news is she only got half of the edition and not all the sections.
But enough about the postal service or lack there of.
Voting is the issue. If you don’t get off your rumps and vote, you don’t have any right to complain about what goes on in Washington D.C.
Some folks are calling this the most important election of a generation.
They could be correct in that evaluation.
The in-person voting continues through Saturday afternoon with the election next Tuesday.
Please get out and cast your ballot.
It’s embarrassing how many people don’t take the time to vote.
People have fought and died giving you the right and the privilege to cast your ballots.
It doesn’t take that much time to participate and you can do it at your leisure from Wednesday through Saturday afternoon at the McClain County Community Center at 17212 Hardcastle Blvd.
And of course Tuesday is election day and polls will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
