Funeral services for Mary K. Skipper, 79, of Purcell will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Skipper passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022.

Mary Katherine Castle was born April 3, 1943 in Williamson, West Virginia, the oldest child of Ralph Castle Sr. and Mary Marie (Lester) Castle. She was raised in Stone, Kentucky graduating with Belfry High School Class of 1961.

By chance, she met a young Texas cowboy at a Halloween party. His name was Lloyd Skipper, and this was the beginning of their life together. By 1967, they had settled near Washington where they raised their family.

Mary graduated from Central State University with a Bachelors of Business Degree in Accounting. She worked as a money manager for various places throughout the years, including Oklahoma Department of Corrections as well as handling day to day business in the family trucking business.

Mary was a hard worker and a generous spirit, a woman of great faith and a member of Grace Chapel in Lexington. She cherished her family,  her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jake Bryen; husband, Lloyd Skipper; her parents, Ralph Sr. and Mary Castle and a brother, Ples McClellan Castle.

Mary is survived by her children, brothers who she raised as her own, David Edward Castle and Ralph Castle Jr. and wife, Regina (Gina); daughter, Lucy (Amy) Bryen and husband, Jim, and son, James David Skipper and wife, Pam; sister, Linda Gail Petruzzi; grandchildren, Jeffery Scott Castle, Paul David, Katrina Dawn Castle,Tricia (Wilson) Sartori, James Lawrence Bryen, Joseph E. Bryen, Trevor J. Skipper, Jimi Len (Bryen) Kale, Jacob Devin Bryen, Tanner Ross Skipper, Travis Newt Skipper, Amelia Faith Skipper, Tucker Isaiah Lloyd Skipper and Tristen Adriano(AJ) Skipper; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
