A Celebration of Life for Linda Brown, 73, of Asher, Okla., will soon be planned, so family and friends can remember this beautifiul lady. Services will be under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Ms. Brown passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 10, 2023 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Linda Gayle Worden was born October 13, 1949 in Purcell, Okla., the younger of two daughters born to John Samuel ‘Buster’ Worden and Elsie Marie (Goss) Worden. She was raised in Purcell and attended school there, graduating with the Dragon Class of 1967. She attended Central State in Edmond where she studied business.

Linda worked as a secretary for Oklahoma State University for several years before settling in Konawa in the early 1980s.  At that time, she began working for Bates Oilfield Company and later as a legal secretary in Shawnee. In 1990, she began working for Darrell’s Drilling Inc., working as the office administrator for more than 33 years.

Linda had a soft spot for stray animals, genuinely cared for her fur babies, and was affectionately known as the “dog rescuer” of Pottawatomi County.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and she rarely missed a Monday with her coffee bunch She was strong and fiercely independent. She was so proud of her 80-acre property, and she took great pride in maintaining it.

She was a woman of great faith and a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Konawa where she played the piano and sang. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and a true friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Elsie Worden and her sister, Donna Watkins.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Holding (Stuart) of Blanchard; son, Bryan Rolin of Asher; five grandchildren, Drew Rolin (Lexi) of Purcell, Brandon Rolin (Sara) of Oklahoma City, Jordan Rolin (Stanzie) of Yukon, Lyndey Holding of Blanchard and Nate Holding of Blanchard; four great-grandchildren, Colt, Cason, Loxleigh and Leverie, and a host of other family and friends.
