Purcell fifth graders enjoyed an Outdoor Classroom at the Purcell City Lake May 9.
“Students had a chance to explore the wonders of nature while learning valuable lessons outside the traditional classroom setting,” fifth grade science teacher Kasey Jones said.
The event included 12 vendors that supported the educational adventure including fishing, fire awareness, an archery station, snake/tick/spider safety station, a pollination station, CPR/tornado safety, fire safety and prevention, a corn hole station, roping station, sheriff station, a wrecker operation and roadside safety.
“We appreciate all the participants, parents and volunteers for their help and support of such an amazing educational event,” Jones said.
She especially appreciated the efforts of Brian Meskimen, Keith Thomas, Kevin Thompson, Ron Wilson, Ernie Martin, Andrew Coffee, Chad Strang, Mike France, Cameron Gammill, Casey Young, the Lexington Wildlife Management Area, the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation, Trey Phillips, Russell Pollard, John Blue, Hayleigh Fowler, Ron Johnson, Kraig Edelman, the Wilson family and Bacon’s Wrecker Service.
