Larry Clayton Hall died July 28, 2023, in Purcell, Oklahoma, at the age of 77 years 3 months 22 days. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the Wadley’s Funeral Chapel. Interment followed at Hillside Cemetery, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service.

Larry was born April 6, 1946, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Clayton and Hazel (Crosslin) Hall, and brought home to Wayne, Oklahoma where he would spend the rest of his life, except for his military service, and the last few years living nearer to the conveniences of town. Larry graduated school in 1964.

He was defined by farming; trusting the land and the process to reward you for your labor. Growing up working on family farms with his father and grandfather, he would farm in some capacity until leaving in 2020. He was inducted into the United States Army in December 1967, proudly serving until his honorable discharge in December 1969. His military service during Vietnam is not something he talked much about; however, he would happily receive the tip of a hat, or a thank you for being a Veteran. He often returned the favor to fellow Veterans when he could.

Larry was also glad to know the many “Sally Sues” and “Billy Bobs” who he would have on his school bus, or would meet in the hallways at Wayne Schools, where he worked for over 35 years before retiring in 2008.

On December 29, 1972, Larry married Geneva Madden in Wayne, Oklahoma, and celebrated 50 years together last December. His family are thankful for the many years they had with Papa. Larry was a member of the Wayne Church of Christ since 2008.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Hazel Hall; an infant daughter, Melissa Kay Hall; a nephew, Jimmy Hall; and a great-nephew, Heath Pope.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Hall of Purcell; his son, Chad Hall and wife, Michelle, of Purcell; his grandchildren, Shaylin Hall and Cooper Hall; his sister, Elaine Murray and husband, Gene, of Wayne; his brother, J.E. Hall and wife, Sue, of Oklahoma City; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
