Purcell Police assisted U.S. Marshal’s Friday morning to serve an arrest warrant on a suspect in the 1200 block of N. Ninth.
The individual, who is suspected of solicitation of a minor, was located hiding in an attic where he produced a knife.
Police said he intentionally cut his own arm causing a serious laceration.
Officers were able to safely take him into custody without further incident and applied a tourniquet.
Police had already staged an ambulance close to the house prior to the warrant service, which made medical response very quick, police chief Bobby Elmore said.
