Terry Mack Webster, 71, passed away on October 18, 2026.
Terry was born on November 29, 1954, at Fort Sill Army Base in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Willis and Eulene Webster. From an early age, Terry demonstrated a strong work ethic, beginning with his first job at a local grocery store at just eight years old and continuing there through his junior year of high school.
He graduated from Purcell High School in 1973. He continued his education and was a proud member of the Omega Chi Delta fraternity at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. It was during his college years that Terry met Wakita Shiffer, the woman who would become his devoted wife and partner in life and ministry. Terry and Wakita were married on November 20, 1976.
Following the calling he felt toward ministry, Terry continued his theological education at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. In 1980, he received the W.T. Conner Memorial Award for Outstanding Student in the Department of Theology.
Terry began his ministry at First Baptist Church in Norman, Oklahoma, where he served as a youth minister. His first fulltime pastoral position was at Washington Street Baptist Church in Hobart, Oklahoma. Then, in 1984, Terry accepted the call to serve Linden Baptist Church in Gladstone, Missouri.
For 42 years, Terry faithfully led and served the congregation of Linden Baptist Church. His ministry extended well beyond the walls of the church, as he held numerous offices within the Clay-Platte Baptist Association throughout the years. Whether preaching from the pulpit, walking alongside a family during a difficult season, celebrating life’s joys, or simply offering a listening ear, Terry devoted his life to serving God and caring for others. His decades of ministry touched generations of families and created a legacy of faith that will continue far beyond his lifetime.
While Terry’s calling to ministry was an important part of who he was, his greatest earthly devotion was to his family. He and Wakita shared nearly 50 years of marriage, standing beside one another through a lifetime of ministry, family milestones, and countless memories.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Eulene Webster; his infant son; and his in-laws, Ferris and Effie Shiffer.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Wakita Webster; son, Derek Webster of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter, Kellyn Webster Vandevort of Blue Springs, Missouri; sister, Jeanne (Randy) Simmons of Goldsby, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Ferris “Bob” Shiffer of St. Paul, Minnesota; niece, Heather Simmons and family of Pyeongtaek, South Korea; nephew, Jarrod Simmons and family of Washington, Oklahoma; aunt and uncle, Elaine and Howell Webster of Lexington, Oklahoma; along with his extended family, church family, friends, and the many people whose lives were touched through his ministry.
A visitation will be held at Linden Baptist Church in Gladstone, Missouri, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held at the church on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 11 a.m.
Terry will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Linden Baptist Church – Webster Memorial Fund, 611 NE 69th Street, Gladstone, MO 64118.
