During its regular weekly board meeting February 17, the McClain County Board of commissioners unanimously voted to call for an election to incorporate Selah as a town in Oklahoma.
At their courthouse meeting, commissioners Wilson Lyles, Terry Daniel and Glen Murray found that all requirements for incorporation have been fully compiled.
The board is required to call an election. The special election date has been set for June 16 asking voters residing within the proposed town territory whether or not to make Selah an incprorated town.
County clerk Rebekah Couch has requested the McClain Election Board to hold the special election.
A legal notice about the special election can be found here or on page 8B in this week’s Purcell Register.
