Not a smooth transition

Posted

In case some of you may be wondering why I’m a little scruffy around the edges and not quite as clean shaven as usual the answer is “YES” my razor is broken.

“I’ve used electric razors since I was in college back in the early 1970s.

And over the years I’ve replaced my fair share of old dull blades with bright new sharpies.

But for some reason this go around I am simply unable to get the job done.

I have been on the Norelco website studying what to do.

I even spent the better part of an hour on the phone with a Norelco technician Saturday when I think she became so frustrated she hung up on me.

I thought that was a home run idea but still no success.

The casing around the new blades will not fit back into the little blue rings that go into the head of the razor.

I’ve given it the old college try but alas I’m about to say calf rope.

The razor will still sort of function. One of the three circular blades will spin but the other two are a lot less enthusiastic to lift and separate the whiskers from the skin.

Hindsight being what it is now I know if I ever encounter another blade switch with my 6000 series Norelco shaver, I’ll leave the blade casings in the blue ring holder and merely throw in the new, sharper blades.

Had I known that last Friday things would have gone a lot silkier over the weekend and my cheeks would be a lot smoother right now.
