The soaking rains on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week dumped 3” of rain in Purcell.
That brings the total for the year in Purcell to 33.72” compared to 33.13” in Oklahoma City at Will Rogers World Airport.
The normal year-to-date total for this area is 32.36”.
According to the Oklahoma Mesonet, Washington received 2.78” and Byars 1.51”.
The system that brought the rain here ended up being a 77 county rain with the bulk running from southwestern Oklahoma through the central portion up to Osage County.
Additional rain was predicted for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
