At least three ambulances and two helicopters were required to transport victims of a three-vehicle, fatality traffic accident in far southern McClain County April 16 on SH 74 at 110th.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports Nathan Ratzlaff, 49, of Lindsay died in the accident. He was pinned in his vehicle for a short time.
First responders reported it took 55 minutes to remove passenger Bobbie Pratt-Ratzlaff from the vehicle using the Hurst Tool. She was injured and taken by ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
The drivers of the three vehicles were Ashanti Johnson, 55, of Dallas, who was injured, Nathan Ratzlaff and Amy Gutierrez, 43, of Maysville, who was not injured.
One of the vehicles caught fire.
Assisting at the scene, in addition to OHP, were Wadley’s EMS, McClain County Sheriff Department, Garvin County Sheriff’s Department, Lighthorse Police, Maysville Police Department, Maysville Fire Department, Wayne Fire Department and Payne Fire Department.
Troopers continue their investigation trying to piece together exactly how the accident occurred.
