Lex splits games on Tuesday

Win over Blanchard, loss to Purcell

The Lady ‘Dawgs had another two-game Tuesday hosting Blanchard and Purcell. Lexington split their games, beating the Lady Lions 14-5,  but falling to the Dragons, 9-7.

Blanchard

Lexington scored 14 runs on 13 hits in their game with Blanchard on Tuesday.

Kiely Givens led the team with four hits – singles in the first, third, fifth and sixth innings. Brodie Anderson, Marisa Northrup and Jocelyn Senn each had two hits.

Givens was in the circle for the win. She went six innings and allowed five runs on 13 hits. She fanned two batters.

Purcell

Despite outhitting Purcell 13-10,  Lexington fell to the Dragons in their second of two games.

Abi Clifton led her team at the plate with three hits. Anderson and Senn each had two.

Eight errors were seemingly the difference for Lexington.

Givens was in the circle again for Lexington. She lasted seven innings and fanned three batters. Only three of Purcell’s nine runs were earned.

The Lady Bulldogs are off for Spring Break and will return to the diamond on March 25 when they host Dale and Newcastle starting at 5 p.m.
