Lex on the road this week

Double header with Crooked Oak on Friday

Over the weekend, Lexington was in Sterling for the Southwest Shootout. They went 2-2, picking up a 4-3 win over Cashion and a 2-1 win over Comanche. They dropped a 2-0 loss to Elgin and a 4-3 loss to Hydro-Eakley.

In all this season, Lexington has had 11 one-run games. They have won three of those.

Monday night, the Lady ‘Dawgs got a decisive 9-2 win over Stratford.

Lex had nine hits and nine RBIs.

They took a 2-1 lead after the first inning. And they piled on seven more in the third to get the run-rule win.

Their seven runs in the third came from a Mackenzie Manuel double that scored three. Then Maison Sissney singled to score two more. Kiely Givens doubled to score one and Jocelyn Senn was hit by a pitch to score one more run.

Hannah Garrett was in the circle and she struck out two and gave up two runs on five  hits.

Southwest Shootout

Down 3-0 to Cashion through two innings, Lexington scored one run in the third to chip away.

Late in the game, Lexington was still down 3-2 when Mackenzie Manuel singled in the fourth and Lexintgon scored two runs to take the lead

The Lady ‘Dawgs collected five hits in the win. Kora Parker homered in the fourth.

Their next game was a 2-0 loss to Elgin.

Manuel, Sissney and Abby Sample accounted for Lexington’s three hits in the loss.

Lexington picked up their second win of the tournament 2-1 over Comanche.

The second half of the Lady ‘Dawgs’ line up had Lexington’s three hits – Parker, Sample and Baylee Rillema.

To finish out their tournament appearances, Lexington dropped a 4-3 loss to Hydro-Eakley.

They jumped out on top 1-0 after scoring in the bottom of the fourth. But the Lady Bobcats answered with four runs in the second inning.

Lexington scored two more in the third but it wasn’t enough to pick up the win.

Sissney and Sample led the team with two hits. Sissney had a home run in the third and accounted for Lexington’s two RBIs.

Manuel, Senn, Givens and Garrett each had a hit.

The Lady ‘Dawgs were scheduled to be in Lindsay on Tuesday and at Crooked Oak for a double header on Friday.

District assignments should be released on Monday.
