Lexington rotated four defensive linemen and got outstanding linebacker play from Cameron Weatherford, Ean Caywood and Buddy Cormany shut out Wayne last Friday night 21-0.

Bulldog coach Keith Bolles noted the top-shelf line play from Avin Morgan, Issac Martin, Dalton Brewer and Gavrie Williams.

“We had a bunch of lineman rotate in and Weatherford, Caywood and Cormany played well at linebacker,” Bolles said.

Spencer Vanoostrum had three tackles including one for a loss and Gage LaGace proved to be a thief again picking off his second interception of the season.

Cadyn Krueger tossed a pair of touchdown passes finding Dalton Brewer in the first quarter for a seven yard scoring strike and in the third period hitting Gage LaGace for 33 yards and a score.

Krueger was 8-11 for 143 yards with one pass picked off.

Caywood closed out the Lexington scoring in the fourth period on a one yard run. He finished with 110 yards rushing.

Kaden McCraven booted all three PATs.

Up next for the Bulldogs is a trip across the Canadian River to face Purcell at 7 p.m. Friday night.

“We’re just leaning toward getting ready for week four and make a run at the playoffs,” Bolles said. “Purcell does a great job and we’re looking forward to that game.

“Coach Dillard had put in a new offense that is tough to defend. It’s going to be a big challenge for us but we’re looking forward to it.”

Bulldog notes:

Lexington coach Keith Bolles nominated Issac Martin as the Offensive Lineman of the Week. He graded out at 78 percent against Wayne.

Bolles nominated Gage LaGace as the Defensive Player of the Week. LaGace had an interception and broke up three passes.
