Connie Lucille Martin, age 82, of Burns, Tenn., passed from this life on October 29, 2026 at NHC of Dickson.
Connie was born on February 12, 1944, in Bingham Canyon, Utah, to Wynona S. and Clyde O.Bench.
Connie was a beautician for most of her life with shops in Boise, Idaho, Poulson, Montana and Purcell, Oklahoma where she lived over the years.
She was known for her kindness and compassion, and also for her sense of humor and off-beat wit. She sang in the Moody Bible Chorale which instilled in her a love of music. In her later years she lived with her sister Wynona and her husband, Tom in Dickson, Tenn. Her last years were spent in the NHC Care Facility where she was loved and cherished by the staff.
Everyone who met Connie was drawn by her compassion and desire to share her faith in Jesus. She was constantly speaking encouragement to those she met. She would help people who were hurting and even tear out pages of her Bible to give a special verse to those who were hurting.
Connie is survived by her sisters Bonnie Perkins, Carol Wadsack and Wynona Constance.
This was one of her favorite verses:
For the Lord your God is living among you.
He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
With His love, He will calm all your fears.
He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.
Zephaniah 3:17
