Byars man killed in accident

A Byars man was killed in a two vehicle traffic accident December 6 just before 8 p.m. at US-177/Ok-3W 17 miles west of Ada.

Investigating Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Keith Teel said a 2006 Ford Ranger driven by Jesse Miller, 89 of Byars made a right turn onto OK-3W and then made an improper U-turn pulling in front of a 2015 Chevrolet driven by Juan Becerra, 39 of Oklahoma City.

Miller was transported by Mercy EMS to Mercy of Ada Hospital where he was pronounced deceased by medical personnel.

Becerra and his three passengers were not injured in the collision.

Teel was assisted at the scene by Trooper Justin Pope, the Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department, Ada Fire Department, Oil City Fire Department and the Garvin County Sheriff’s Department.
