Broomcorn story is popular

Posted

What good does a state law do that prohibits mask mandates?

Schools are handcuffed.

They cannot require masks for students even if that is the only deterrent for the spread of COVID for children under the age of 12.

That’s because a person has to be at least 12 years old to be eligible for a vaccination against the virus.

That leaves the youngest students and their teachers and staff at risk of spreading the dreaded virus that can be fatal.

Those against the vaccine are surely against the mask.

But my question is why?

Why would you not want to take every precaution?

It would be like getting in your vehicle and refusing to wear your seat belt.

It’s perplexing.

In the department of you never know what is going to interest folks...the story about broomcorn by former area resident and now Californian MC O’Bryant has peaked the interest of a lot of people.

Some have taken umbrage to some of his facts.

Others have brought in pictures of family members that were part of the broomcorn years.

Still another reader has been moved to write his own version of that part of the history of Oklahoma.

Yet another reader, Randy Robinson, called to let us know where he had planted some broomcorn for a picture that ran in our paper last week.

You just never know.

It’s probably been this way for a long time but recently I’ve noticed a lot more white colored vehicles traveling up and down our area streets.

I checked, and in fact, white cars are the most popular followed closely by black cars.

Next is gray and fourth is silver.
