A Wayne man was killed Saturday night while driving an ATV near the Canadian River in Pottowatomie County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Jason Kane, 45, was killed in an accident with another ATV just before 8 p.m. when the ATV he was driving westbound along side another ATV, driven by Ivan Mireles-Velazuez, 24, of Oklahoma City.
The OHP report said the Kane vehicle began turning right into the path of the Mireles-Velazquez vehicle that struck Kane’s ATV on the passenger side causing it to turn over.
That collision ejected Kane. The investigating OHP Trooper said one of two passengers in Kane’s vehicle was injured. The severity of the injury was not reported.
Mireles-Velazquez and one passenger in his vehicle suffered unknown injuries, according to the report.
The accident occurred at Soggy Bottom ATV Park.
