It was another busy week for the Wayne Lady Bulldogs.
They picked up wins over Riverside, Wewoka and Bray-Doyle but dropped games with Asher and Maysville.
On Monday they hosted Konawa.
The 7-1 loss to the Lady Tigers moved the Lady Bulldogs’ record to 7-8.
Wayne collected five hits in the loss. Maddie Moreno was 2-3 at the plate. Alyssa Hobson, Cylie Jones and Addison Clagg each had a hit, too.
Konawa scored three in the first inning when their batter singled to the outfield and an error helped bring in extra runs.
They added one more run in the second, two in the fourth and one in the sixth.
Wayne scored their one run in the fourth inning when Clagg singled to score Taelynn Ringwald.
Maysville/Bray-Doyle
Friday evening, Wayne hosted a three way with Maysville and Bray-Doyle.
Despite outhitting the Lady Warriors, Wayne lost 10-6.
Juniors Ringwald, Clagg and Audra Watts had two hits apiece while Moreno, Natalie Knobloch, Cylie Jones and Skie Jones each had one hit.
Maysville got on the board first with two runs and Wayne tied it up in the bottom of the first.
Maysville retook the lead in the second inning when they scored four runs. That proved to be the difference in the game.
The Lady Warriors added two more runs in the third and fourth innings. Wayne added three in the third and one in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough.
Next up was an 8-7 win over Bray-Doyle. Wayne collected 11 hits, led by Knobloch and Ringwalds’ three each. Cylie Jones added two while Moreno, Watts and Alyssa Hobson had one apiece.
Jones was the RBI leader with four, thanks to triples in the third and fourth innings.
Wewoka/Asher
Last Thursday, at Wewoka, Wayne got a 7-0 shutout win over the Lady Tigers. Knobloch was in the circle and fanned six batters in the no-hitter.
The Lady Bulldogs collected six hits – two from Moreno and one each from Hobson, Knobloch, Watts and Kyndall Sparks.
Wayne was scoreless in the first inning but pushed five runs across in the second inning. Sparks singled to score one then she tagged up and scored herself. Moreno singled to score one, Kobloch tripled to score one and Watts singled to score one.
In their second game of the three-way, Wayne lost to Asher, 5-3.
Hits and runs were hard to come by as Wayne collected just two hits – one each from Hobson and Ringwald.
The Lady Bulldogs got two runs in the second inning when Knobloch scored on a passed ball and Watts scored on a Clagg bunt to third.
They added one more run in the third when Ringwald tagged up on a Knobloch pop out.
Starting Thursday, Wayne will be in the New Lima tournament. They play Strother at 12:35.
Tuesday’s game with Crooked Oak was canceled due to rain and wet field conditions.
