Prior to the Washington basketball games with Bridge Creek Friday night will be the 2023 high school homecoming coronation.
The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. with the crowning of the King and Queen.
The boys will play the first game at 6:30 p.m. followed by the girls around 8 p.m.
Queen candidates include freshman Haylee Henderson, junior Brinley Thomas, sophomore Breanna Lindert, senior Kelby Hodges, senior Kyndall Wells and senior Daisy Lampkin.
King candidates include senior Jaden Cornelius, senior Cash Andrews, senior Hayden Hicks, senior Drew McCalip, senior Samuel Hedenberg and senior Danny Chavira.
The flower girl will be Krozlie Simon and the crown bearers will be Jett and Curry Jax Tims.
Henderson is the 15-year-old daughter of Larry and Aimee Brown and the late Sara Standerfer She is a member of the FCA and plays basketball.
Thomas is the 17-year-old daughter of Kevin and Amy Thomas. She plays basketball, runs cross country and track and is studying cosmetology at Mid America Technology Center.
Lindert is the 16-year-old daughter of Kevin Lindert and Tasha Tyler. A member of NHS, she plays basketball and runs track.
Hodges is the 17-year-old daughter of Brandon and Steffany Hodges. She is a member of NHS, FCA and is a cheerleader.
Wells is the 18-year-old daughter of Robin and Richie Wells. She plays basketball, is a member of NHS, FCA, is in yearbook and is in FCCLA.
Lampkin is the 18-year-old daughter of Tylor and Alyssa Lampkin. She plays fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball, plays basketball, runs track and is in FCA and the NHS. She has played on two fast-pitch state championship teams and on two slow-pitch state championship teams.
Cornelius, 18, plays basketball and is in FCA and in NHS.
Andrews is the 18-year-old son of Nick and Lacee Andrews. He plays basketball and is a member of the FCA.
Hicks is the 19-year-old son of Laurie and Chad Hicks. He plays basketball, runs track and is in FCA. He played on a state qualifier basketball team, is a member of the 1,000 point club and was All-Conference and All-District in 2022.
McCalip is the 18-year-old son of Cindy and Alan McCalip. He plays basketball, golf, is on the yearbook staff and a member of the science club. He is also a member of the NHS.
Hedenberg is the 18-year-old son of Eric and Elisa Hedenberg. He plays basketball and is a member of the NHS, Student Council, FCA and FCCLA.
Chavira is the 17-year-old son of Nelida Chavira and Eloy Chavira. He plays basketball and attends the Mid-America Technology Center.
Jett and Curry Jax are the six-year-old sons of Jeremy and Amanda Tims. They both enjoy T-ball, basketball and backyard football. They are both in Mrs. Mann’s kindergarten class.
Krozlie is the seven-year-old daughter of Kale and Jenny Simon. She plays basketball and softball.
