I don’t like wars.
Not one bit.

The most recent poll I’ve seen is that only 50 percent of the country thinks it was a good idea to invade Iran.

The other day I overheard a couple of top school administrators discussing the potential for severe weather coming into our area and what impact it would have on student-athletes participating in sporting contests in Purcell.
The two administrators were going over where students could go to take cover in case of the worst case scenario.
It was impressive how detailed they were thinking of all the places students could take shelter near the softball, baseball and track facilities.
I don’t consider myself to be an alarmist when it comes to severe weather.
However, I am very weather aware and after listening to the administrators it really made me think.
Another point they made was having bus loads of student athletes traveling to and from games and how that makes them nervous.
“I’d rather live for another day than put kids at risk,” Purcell Superintendent Dr. Sheli McAdoo said.
That’s when someone else said. “Just think Kobe Bryant.”
