It almost sounds like a cliché but we do appreciate our Veterans and the service they have provided over the generations for our country.
From their personal sacrifice from time away from their families, those who have been wounded and those who paid the ultimate price, we thank you. We appreciate your service.
There were nice ceremonies at the Goldsby Veterans Memorial, at Purcell High School and fitting tributes to those who gave their lives for our country in the form of Green signs naming portions of highways and bridges in their honor.
None of that can bring back a loved one but for those Veterans that are still with us and to the families of those who sacrificed everything it is the very least we can do.
A belated Happy Veterans Day to all Veterans for allowing us to live the lives we live today and live in peace and enjoy the freedoms they courageously fought for.
There is coverage, both stories and pictures, of all of those Veterans Day events in this week’s Purcell Register.
For those of you who can, stop by the Veterans Day Memorial at either Goldsby or Purcell and take a minute to read some of the names of those who served.
It’s an interesting read where you will find many of your friends and neighbors’ names.
