Memorial Services for Timothy Malon Shannon, 68, of Purcell will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2022 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mr. Shannon went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 in Oklahoma City.

Tim was born April 19, 1954 in Roswell, New Mexico, to Delmer Malon Shannon and Nina Mae Copeland Shannon. He was the third of four children. Tim grew up living in various states across the U.S. because of his father’s career as a meat cutter.

After high school, he married his first wife, Ronda Cronian, and had three daughters together.

He began a lifelong career in the oil field, having worked for over 46 years in this industry. He started his career as a floor hand on a pulling unit and worked his way up to a consultant until his retirement in 2021. He spent his career in West Texas and Southeastern New Mexico, but also spent some time working in Alaska and eventually retiring in Oklahoma.

During his time in the oil field in Southeastern New Mexico, he met the love of his life Lana Williams. They spent an amazing 30 years together and had one daughter. His daughters were his pride and joy and he talked about them with everyone he met. He never met a stranger because he made everyone feel welcome and accepted. He made many friends whom he cherished throughout his life.

He gained numerous friends through his hobby racing stock cars on the dirt track in Eunice, N.M. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors riding four wheelers, fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with loved ones.

In 2016, his family moved to Purcell, Oklahoma, and later joined the Purcell First Baptist Church. He was surrounded by a wonderful community that supported and loved on him until his last moment on Earth. He will be missed greatly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer and Nina Shannon and his daughter, Jennifer Shannon.

He is survived by his wife, Lana Shannon; three daughters, Amber Galvan and husband, Mike, of Texarkana, Texas, Jill Shannon of Las Cruces, N.M., and Taylor Monroe and husband, Daniel, of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Elaine Roach of Roswell, N.M., and Patricia Ferrell and husband Joe of Roswell, N.M.; one brother, Michael Shannon and wife, Anita, of Artesia, N.M.; four grandchildren, Megan Wolstein, Sydney Yates, Ryan Galvan and Alex Galvan; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wesley and Nelva Williams of Hobbs, N.M.; a special cousin, Ruth Ann Brown; multiple uncle, aunts, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
