After a recent Oklahoma State Board of Education meeting, State Superintendent Ryan Walters inaccurately made accusations that Bixby Schools were in financial difficulty.
When Bixby Superintendent Rob Miller fired back about the inaccuracy Walters called him a “clown and a liar”.
This is Miller’s response:
“@RyanWaltersSupt Sir, your remarks crossed a line today. You owe me and @BixbyPS an apology. Your false statements and ad hominem attacks are beneath your office. The students and families of #oklaed deserve better leadership than that.
“And let me make this point crystal clear: NEVER again disparage or slander my ethics, integrity, or character in public without evidence. I wore a Marine Officer’s uniform while you still crawled in diapers. You’re supposed to be a leader. Act like one.”
There are superintendents in Oklahoma who are in fear of Ryan Walters, for his retaliation to their districts, in addition to the ones he has personally attacked.
Apparently Mr. Walters is under the false impression that he can make laws. Perhaps he should review the parameters of his office.
In the meantime, school districts here in central Oklahoma, and many around the state, are planning on continuing to follow what really is the law as far as school curriculums are concerned.
If the Oklahoma House of Representatives had any backbone, it would vote to impeach Ryan Walters.
