Second Annual City of Purcell Shred Day, Rx Take Back

Posted

The City of Purcell will be hosting the Second Annual Shred Day for residents looking for a safe and efficient way to dispose of documents and prescription drugs for free.

This event is scheduled for Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Purcell Police Department.

Purcell residents can bring up to five boxes of documents to be shredded by Absolute Data Shredding. This event was created to provide a free and easy way to properly dispose of wanted documents containing personal information.

In addition to document shredding the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) will be present to take any outdated, unused, or unneeded prescription drugs to be disposed of in an environmentally responsible way. OBN will not accept needles, syringes, liquids, chemicals, or inhalers.

On April 29, all participants should enter the police department from Grant Street and follow the signs to proceed to the southeast corner of the parking lot.

At that time staff will approach your vehicle and gather all documents and unwanted medication. Please remain in your vehicle for a fast and easy process. All participants will exit on to Green Ave.

This is a free community event sponsored by the City of Purcell.
