School board approves hires

Purcell’s Board of Education added an Offensive Coordinator to the football staff during their regular monthly meeting Monday night at the administration building.

After an executive session, they welcomed Payton Broome to the staff.

The Seminole High School and ECU grad has coaching stops in Seminole, Elgin, Lexington, Yukon and Piedmont.

In addition to coaching Broome has taught math for the past 11 years.

He will be a junior high PE teacher for Purcell.

In other personnel matters Desray Little and Kasey Jones were both promoted from long-term substitutes to certified teachers.

The board passed several policies recommended by the Oklahoma State School Board Association and approved the purchase of 13 Sentry Dry Hydrogen Peroxide Antimicrobial units with five years of filters from Facility Care for $70,135. Funds will come out of the State Department of Health Grant.

In Dr. Sheli McAdoo’s remarks she reported baseball starts Friday with a scrimmage.She told the board the Missoula Children’s Theatre will be March 20-26.

Officials are continuing to work on technical issues with the high school’s marquee. There will be a district Professional Development day February 20.
