Purcell Police were in a standoff last week at 323 South Santa Fe Avenue trying to locate Austin Walls, who was finally arrested for two counts of domestic assault and battery.
Assistant Police Chief James Bolling had to use his loudspeaker on his police unit several times and made several cell phone calls during the standoff when witnesses kept saying Walls was not in the house.
After getting one of the witnesses to admit he was in the house the other witness confirmed that Walls was in the residence.
In all, nine police officers were involved in the incident.
Walls was also facing a first degree burglary charge and larceny of merchandise from a retailer.
Officers believe Walls was involved with a disturbance in the 300 block of West Huron the previous night.
