Funeral services for Pearl Jean (PJ) (Cook) Shupert, 84,  of Washington were held Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Services were under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Ms. Shupert passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, surrounded by her family.

PJ was born on June 4, 1938, in Oakfield, Wisc., and was the youngest of 10 children born to Charles William Cook and Pearl Zora (Farmer) Cook.

She married Ernest Marion Martin Jr., and they had three children, son, Ernest III and daughters, Linda and Michelle.

In 1976, she married John Thomas Shupert; they made their home in Elkhart, Ind. After his passing, she relocated to Oklahoma. There she enjoyed working at the University of Oklahoma in the athletic department cafeteria, caring for athletes. Her biggest accomplishment was her family; she was happiest when surrounded by them.

She is loved beyond measure and will be dearly missed.

PJ was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pearl Cook; her stepfather, Hank Warnke; her husband, John Thomas; her nine siblings; granddaughter, Staci Snyder; grandson, Phillip Smith, and many friends.

PJ is survived by her son, Ernest Martin III (Becky) of Lexington, Okla.; daughters, Linda Snyder (Bruce) of McNeal, Ariz., and Michelle Madden (Timmy) of Washington, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
