ORDINANCE NO. 2026-02

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE TOWN OF WAYNE BY AMENDING TITLE 6, (PUBLIC SAFETY); CHAPTER 2, (RURAL FIRE SERVICES); SECTION 6-2B-2, (PURPOSE); REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION 6-2B-2 AND SUBSTITUTING THE LANGUAGE IN THIS ORDINANCE IN ITS PLACE; AND REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WAYNE, OKLAHOMA:

Title 6, Chapter 2, Section 6-2B-2 is hereby amended to the Town of Wayne Code of Ordinances and shall include the following changes and additions as follows:

SECTION I. AMENDMENT TO SECTION 6-2B-2

SECTION 6-2B-2:

The rural fire service shall be operated primarily for the purpose of providing fire protection to rural residents living outside of the corporate limits of the town but within the area encompassed generally by the Wayne mailing route, Wayne Fire District, or any other area recommended by the rural fire service and approved by the town board. 

SECTION II.  SEVERABILITY

If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, or phrase of these Ordinances are, for any reason, held to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of these Ordinances.  

SECTION III. REPEALER.  

All other Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
