Believe it or not Christmas is less than six months away.

And now is as good as anytime to get back into the Christmas Spirit to show your support for Operation Christmas and Peggy Christian.

To Mrs. Christian McClain County’s Operation Christmas is a 365-day commitment.

Christian knows most folks don’t share her zeal for the yuletide season.

But 2025 is over half gone and there are just 148 shopping days until the Operation Christmas loot is carried out of the Multi-Purpose Building by grateful recipients.

To jump start the holiday giving, she’s starting a Christmas in July promotion to raise awareness – and cash.

With the start of school in just a few short weeks, school supplies are always a good gift choice for Operation Christmas.

School supply suggestions are crayons (both regular and jumbo), composition books, glue sticks, colored and regular pencils, regular and snub-nose scissors, pens and construction paper.

Also, if anyone crochets, Operation Christmas always has a need for hats and baby blankets.

Even “gently used” bicycles are welcome.

Learning toys, art supplies and children’s books are also good choices.

The county provides storage space for Operation Christmas gifts.

Operation Christmas will accept “anything people want to donate” with the exception of garage sale.
