Funeral services for Ona Schultz, 77, of Purcell were held Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Shultz passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Purcell Municipal Hospital.

Ona Lee Jones was born April 22, 1943 in Charleston, W.V., one of 13 children born to Ralph Samuel Jones and Dorothy Alice (Leach) Jones. Growing up a farm girl, Ona learned at a very young age, the value of hard work.

She married young to Jim Shultz, and together they raised four children, sons, Greg, Roger and Donnie and daughter, Charlotte. They first made their home in Grafton, Ohio, before moving to Oklahoma City.

For more than 20 years, Ona worked in house cleaning for Hillcrest Hospital, cleaning and preparing the surgical units. When she wasn’t working, Ona was probably at an auction and she never missed an opportunity to hit up a good garage sale. She cherished her family and especially her children and grandchildren

She later moved to Texas for a few short years, before settling in Purcell to be closer to her family. She was light hearted, fun loving and enjoyed the best in every day. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by her parents Ralph and Dorothy Jones and her siblings, Bill, Audrey, Jack, Emily, Joe, Delores, Junior, Judy and John.

Ona is survived by her boys, Greg Shultz of Purcell, Roger Shultz and wife, Nikki, of Pauls Valley and Donnie Shultz and wife, Mimi, of Texarkana; her daughter, Charlotte Oliver and husband, Wes, of Moore, Okla.;  three brothers, Mark Jones and wife, Frieda, of LaGrange, Ohio, Curley Jones and wife, Ella, of Sandusky, Ohio, and Roger Jones of Tampa, Fla.;  grandchildren, Roger, Morgan and husband Sam, Ashley, Zack, Joshua, Chase, Samantha, Aron and Phoenix; great grandchildren, Ivy and Paxton and a host of other family and friends.
