AN APPLICATION FOR

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The Town of Washington Public Works Authority will hold a public hearing at 6pm on January 13, 2026 at the Washington Town Hall, 204 North Main Street in Washington, Oklahoma. The hearing is to give the citizenry an opportunity to become acquainted with the proposed Water Standpipe Improvements project and to comment on such items as economic and environmental impacts, service area, alternatives to the project, financing aspects, or any other issues related to the proposal. The Public Works Authority has negotiated an engineering contact with Myers Engineering for the planning, design and construction of the proposed Water Standpipe Improvements project. This firm has demonstrated their competence and qualifications to complete this project. The proposed project is identified in the Engineering Report prepared by Myers Engineering and consists of the following elements:

1. Introduction

2. General Information. The Town of Washington’s Public Water Supply is currently served by a single standpipe with 95,000 gallons of storage capacity. This existing standpipe is inadequate to meet pressure and flow demands required by DEQ and ISO standards for fire suppression. The Water Standpipe Improvements project proposes the construction of a 300,000 gallon new standpipe in the place of an existing, nonfunctional elevated water storage tank.

3. Existing Facilities & Location. The Water Standpipe Improvements project will take place utilizing an existing easement and permitted land use of the old, nonfunctional elevated storage tank at the intersection of Kerby Avenue & South Turner Street.

4. Proposed Considerations. Alternatives and cost estimations are provided. The proposed Water Standpipe Improvements project has an estimated cost of $2,870,600.00.

5. Benefit Cost Analysis.

6. Conclusions & Recommendations

This Engineering Report, along with environmental information related to the project, is on file and available for public inspection at Washington Town Hall. Please contact Washington Town Hall at 405-288-2578 to arrange a time to view this document or come by Town Hall during business hours.

This notice also sets forth the intent of the Town of Washington Public Works Authority to file an application for financial assistance through the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and/or lending institution for the construction of this proposed Water Standpipe Improvements project.

The public is invited to attend.
