Nora Rilla (Perdue) Copeland died November 25, 2020 in Purcell, Oklahoma, at the age of 74 years 4 months 21 days.  She departed from this earthly life for a far better place in the Lord’s care.  Memorial Services were held Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Wadley’s Funeral Chapel, entrusted to the care of Wadley’s Funeral Service. Nora was born July 4, 1946 in Huntington, West Virginia, to Woodrow Wilson and Josie Lee (Quimby) Perdue. Nora was raised in Purcell after the family relocated when she was 2. She graduated from Purcell High School in 1964.

Nora worked in food service at OU until 1980, and then in Purcell at the Sonic Drive -In. She married Chuck Copeland on January 22, 1980.

Nora was a member to the Friends of the Library and enjoyed crafts and reading. Nora was a faithful Christian and a member of the Church of Christ at Jackson and Green. Nora had a very giving spirit throughout her life and demonstrated it at the end by donating her body to the OU Science Program for research in hopes to help others. 

Nora was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow and Josie Perdue and her brother, William Perdue.

Survivors include her sister, Gloria Baker of Purcell; nephew, James Baker and wife, Jami, and their children, Jackson Baker and Jaci Baker of Morrison, Okla.; a cousin, Patty Lewis of Huntington, W.V.; a special sister-in-law, Marla Powell; and many other relatives and friends.
