Purcell’s new girls basketball coach Toney Cooper is settling into his new digs.
Cooper, who is active in his church, loves sports and being outdoors. Cooper teaches Kid’s Church and plays the drums.
He is transitioning from being a Program Manager for OGE.
“I love interacting with people,” Cooper said.
Born and reared in North Carolina, Cooper attended the University of South Carolina with a study focus in Business Management.
He loves sports, loves being outdoors, loves interacting with people.
When not working, he is in a gym somewhere working with young people.
“I am active in my church, where I teach Kid's Church and play drums in youth.
“My wife works at our church. I am so honored I get to serve alongside her.” Cooper said.
Toney and Chasti have two children, Tia and Tyson.
Cooper who can also play the clarinet and soprano saxophone likes to lift weights and anything related to sports.
“When I came in for interviews everyone was extremely nice and spoke passionately about this community and how all were welcomed. The support the staff and community shows made me want to be a part of this community, this school,” Cooper concluded.
