Sorry, I missed one of the Frankenbergs in last week’s newspaper.
It’s been 62 consecutive years in the Purcell Public School System with a Frankenberg on the staff.
But with the retirement of Lori Frankenberg at the end of last year there won’t be a Frankenberg in the system.
Pat Frankenberg was a teacher and principal from 1963 to 1993.
The one I missed was Debbie, a 1973 PHS grad who worked for the school system from 1987 to 2023.
Ora Mae Frankenberg (PHS graduating class of 1948) taught school here from 1976 to 1983.
Lori taught here from 1994 to 2025 drawing to a close of 62 years of Frankenberg educators in Purcell School.
It’s been a good run and we appreciate the services of each of them.
Sorry about that, Debbie.

I’m definitely torn about the lawsuit and subsequent settlement between Trump and Paramount.
Under the first amendment, CBS had the right to edit their content just as we do at The Purcell Register.
However, in this case 60 Minutes was editing its content to help one political candidate against another and not in an advertisement.
We don’t do that at The Register.
We may edit content for grammar or facts that relate to the particular subject at hand but we don’t do it to influence an election. We just report the news.
If we are for a candidate or issue we clearly state that is the purpose of the editorial piece. We don’t do it in a “news story”.
60 Minutes was clearly attempting to assist one candidate over another and that didn’t turn out well for them.
During discussions in our office about this incident a left leaning person said, “I’m sure the Republican news organizations do the same thing.”
A right leaning colleague was quick to point out, “There aren’t any,” talking about CBS, NBC and ABC.
It’s something the right deals with all the time.
