Washington’s Massey and Scheffe

Emersyn Massey and Rielyn Scheffe of Washington competed in the Meet of Champions last Tuesday evening at North Rock Creek.

Each girl ran well enough to earn a medal in their event. Rielyn placed fifth in the 100 meter hurdles and third in the 300 meter hurdles. Emersyn finished sixth in the 200 meters.

Both Emersyn and Rielyn broke the school record while competing at the State Meet held in Ardmore.

Massey broke the school record and placed third in the 200 meters in 25.95.

Scheffe broke her own school record and placed third in the 300 meter hurdles in 46.73.

The girls 1600 meter relay team of Mailalen Armentia, Breanna Lindert, Scheffe and Massey also broke the previous school record and placed sixth in 4:13.45.

The Washington boys 1600 meter and 3200 meter relay teams broke the school record and medaled in both events at the State Meet with times of 3:29.74 and 8:29.19.

The relay team members were Travis Bolling(4x400 and 4x800), Grayson Mitchell(4x400 and 4x800), Cooper Alexander(4x400), Grant Hagar(4x00 and 4x800) and David Calvert (4x800).

Mitchell broke his previous school record in the 800 meters and placed sixth with a time of 2:00.85.
