Funeral services for Mary Lou Millsap, 85, of Purcell will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell.

Mrs. Millsap passed away Monday, October 31,2022.

The oldest of three children, Mary Lou Jones was born February 18, 1937 in Wayne, Okla., to Ulys “Toad” Jones and Mary Nettie (Pirtle) Jones.

Mary Lou met and married the love of her life, John Henry Millsap, on October 2,1954, and just a few months later, she graduated from Wayne High School with the Bulldog Class of 1955. They first made their home in Wayne, before moving to Purcell.  Together they raised three children, daughter, Julie and sons, Steve and Tim.

Mary worked in Customer Service at McClain Bank for more than 20 years. She then worked for a short time at Charlotte’s Web Day Care and at the Boutique in United Supermarket, before retiring.

When she wasn’t working, Mary was probably tending to her garden and flowers. She was a gifted seamstress and shared her many talents with family and friends. She loved being a grandmother, and looked forward to putting puzzles together and coloring and painting with her grandchildren. She cherished her family and especially her fur baby, Marley.

She was a woman of great faith and a warrior, who faced many challenges, and always overcame them. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Millsap; her parents, Toad and Mary Nettie Jones; her brother, Larry Jones and son-in-law, Scott Mitchell.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Julie Mitchell of Norman; her sons, Steve Millsap and wife, Denise, of Tulsa and Tim Millsap and wife, Andie, of Purcell; sister, Shirley Millsap of Sand Springs, Okla.; her pride and joy, grandchildren, Casey Millsap and wife, Sarah, Megan Millsap, Trey Maddox and wife, Katie, Savannah Mitchell and fiancé, Jake Morain, Parker Millsap and wife, Meg and Shelby Millsap Haynes and husband, Arron; great-grandchildren, Aniston, Tenley, Harley, Scarlett, Louise and one more on the way; and a host of other family and friends.
