The Lady ‘Dawgs were scheduled to host Henryetta on Monday, but that game was postponed due to rain. A make-up has yet to be announced.

Last week they played the Lady Hens and picked up a 6-2 win.

Briley Lacquement was once again rock solid in the circle. She finished the game with eight strikeouts and allowed two runs on two hits.

Eagle/Cowgirl Showdown

Late last week they were in Warner for the Connors State tournament where the competition was tough.

Lexington’s first game was a 7-0 win over Roland.

The Lady ‘Dawgs scored two runs in the third when Merabelle Neilson singled and Kora Parker walked to each score a run.

They added five runs in the fourth thanks to a Lexie Torres single, a tag up score from Cote Garver, a Mackenzie Manel double and a Lacquement single to score two.

As a team Lexington collected seven hits and seven RBIs.

Next up, Lexington faced undefeated Warner and the teams both had three hits. It was Lexington’s three errors that seemed to be the difference.

Lacquement was in the circle for one inning. She allowed five runs (one earned) on two hits and two strike outs. Brodie Anderson came on in relief for three innings.

She struck out two and allowed one run on one hit.

The loss to Warner sent Lexington to the losers bracket where they played Pawhuska. They beat the Lady Huskies 7-1.

Anderson was in the circle and she fanned eight batters. She allowed just one run on two hits.

The Lady ‘Dawgs collected five hits including two from Lacquement. Neilson, Parker and Peyton Harmon each had one.

Lexington held a 3-0 lead through three and a half innings when Pawhuska pushed one run across.

They answered with four runs in the fifth thanks to a Parker single that scored one, a Harmon single that scored two and a Garver ground out that scored one.

The Lady ‘Dawgs were patient at the plate with five walks in the game.

In their final game of the tournament, Lexington lost to Kiefer, currently with a 10-2 record.

It was a pitchers’ duel as Lacquement was once again in the circle. She recorded 15 outs behind six strikeouts and two earned runs on three hits.

The Lady ‘Dawgs couldn’t get their offense going as they finished the game with zero hits.
