Lexington will host the Coalgate Wildcats Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Floyd West Field.

Prior to the game however, will be the coronation of the 2022 football homecoming queen.

The queen coronation will begin at 7 p.m. A complete wrap up of the day and night may be found on page one of this week’s Purcell Register.

The Wildcats will operate out of a 4-3 defense when Lexington has the football.

Head coach Keith Bolles reports Coalgate is predominantly a two-back offensive team.

“They are two-back and will mix in some one back sets with two wings,” Bolles said.

The Wildcats are 0-5 on the season.

In last Friday’s 45-12 loss at Davis Bolles did see some bright spots.

Ezra Faulkenberry scored on both sides of the ball. On offense, he hauled in eight balls for 85 yards and a touchdown and had a scoop and score on a fumble recovery for a touchdown on defense.

The touchdown reception was a 25 yard pass off the arm of quarterback Tate Collier in the second quarter.

The scoop and score was a 45 yard play in the third stanza.

Cadyn Krueger led the defense with eight tackles. Right on his heels was Gavrie Williams with seven stops. Dalton Brewer and Ean Caywood both recovered fumbles in the game.

“Buddy Cormany did an outstanding job punting for us,” the coach said.
