Lexington’s Bulldogs will travel to Atoka Thursday night for a 7:30 p.m. battle with the Wampus Cats, who are 2-4 on the season.

Head coach Keith Bolles said he expects a power game out of the Wampus Cats.

“They are mainly an I (formation) team,” Bolles said. “They run a little spread but are mainly off tackle power and lead plays.”

On defense Atoka is in a 50 set with huge linemen and linebackers that have good speed.

“They do good things,” Bolles said.

In last week’s 28-0 loss at the hands of Coalgate, Lexington  was led by quarterback Tate Collier’s 142 yards passing. He completed 11 of 28 passes but was picked off three times.

Ezra Faulkenberry hauled in three of Collier’s aerials for 98 receiving yards.

On defense Faulkenberry had an interception for the Bulldogs and recovered a fumble.

Cameron Weatherford led the team with 10 tackles followed closely by Ean Caywood with eight stops.

Cadyn Krueger and Dalton Brewer registered seven tackles each.
